It seems gangzones and textdraws were also made by Alex Cole. Now let's remove everything... in order to just amuse the ego or what? The only system that is worth it to be cut out (and I agree with DartfoL) is the class system, which use really few people, but even in that case it is better to optionally disable such systems if it's not a new branch 0.4 which could loss backward compatibility. Menus are pretty secondary feature, but still used by some projects. Skins choice are often made via menu because it doesn't block the center of the screen and can be placed anywhere you want.

I know there is a server on 0.3.DL which has implemented the map from Bully, a game by Rockstar. Are other people free to do this (Implement the map in SA-MP) themselves without repercussions?

Instead of pointing the finger at me, why don't you guys take a look in the mirror? There are servers that have custom models and new skins, but they don't want other servers having access to them.

So you're fine with me adding new skins and new objects, but when it comes time to contribute something back, nothing. Thus the failure of DL.

I hope you intend to keep the gangzones in SA-MP, my gamemode uses them a lot and this feature cannot be substituted. If they were removed, I would have to stay on 0.3.7 probably.

I think you should consider NiCe as a beta or atleast listen to him if you won't listen to us. He has the best and most promising SA-MP server. His server is literally filled with CreateMenus because his server is single player based and he isn't complaining to you because he works constantly everyday and he can probably change all his menus in a week due to his motivation but you need to look at this guy's dedication, https://www.gta-multiplayer.cz/sk/topic/5855/?page=122

Doing all this might cause more harm than anything...

I was limited by only 12 rows could have been effectively displayed with CreateMenu, thus two years ago I've created my own script using TextDraws, which enables using any number of rows, as the menu is scrollable. I might release the script so servers using CreateMenu can keep using the menus.

I thank Kalcor for clarifying his current position on removing certain features from SA-MP. However, unfortunately I see that there will also be another split in the playerbase with players being able to choose to play on 0.3.7, 0.3.DL or 0.3.9 servers. I think the effects will be very noticeable if there cross-compatability is not ensured.

Could 0.3.DL ever see custom weapons being added in the future? I know a lot of 3D artists who would instantly release a large amount of weapon mods on these forums if custom weapons were to be a feature.

Y Less hasn't contributed to SA-MP since 2007 (0.2). There's a history behind everything you listed.

I'll have to make the determination what needs to be removed or redesigned. I wouldn't credit everything you listed to Y Less.

edit:

I think the reason something like this comes up is because Y Less and co are going to try and justify stealing everything from sa-mp based on a few contributions 11 years ago, which is why his contributions need to be removed.
