A login system in textdraws for my upcoming server
#1

Hi guys! I've written a login system made out of textdraws and i would like to show it to you, it's 100% functional and it can't be bypassed, it also converts your inputted password to a hash for maximum protection.

I hope you enjoy the video!

My upcoming server will be finished and open for public soon so stay tuned.

Sorry about the lag ):

Any type of comments are welcome!

I like the design of this although it's not really necessary it's certainly a nice touch for a server. I think I might get sick and tired of clicking in my password all the time like that you should probably add a dialog for lazy assholes like me

Thanks for your feedback, you gave me a great idea for a 'remember me' button for players that don't want to re-input their password each time (Only works for the same ip, users must re-input their password if they connect with a different ip).

I usually don't hate comment and let people do their thing, but have you ever heard 'If it ain't broke, don't fix it'? What was bad with our current login system using dialogs?

I think the dialogs are over used, almost every server uses them, and it's really eazy to make. I wanted to create something different. Hmmm i think i'll add a clasic mode for people like [uL]Pottus. I will add the new video later. Thanks anyway.

Don't you think there is a reason why everybody uses them?
Not that its hard to make a Textdraw one, but because its the most efficient.

^ I'm not fixing anything, the dialog login system is perfectly fine and works very well, but i want to make stuff that are rarely found in other servers.

^ It's not that eazy as it seems, if you have the right knowledge its a piece of cake.

I'm developing a unique server, with a different but eazy way to play with original features so people don't get bored.

Thanks for your feedback. I'd like to know what people think about this system so it can be improved.

I guess it might serve by giving the server an 'elegant' or polished off appearance. Although I admit, I fear some players will grow tired of inputting their passwords; not to mention the fact that because players can't type it in quickly their passwords are vulnerable to being leaked by those next to them.

It'd be great if there was a remember me icon you can click, but well done.

In my opinion, this is completely useless. You shouldn't get insulted ar anything it's just my feedback. The look is not bad, but the functionality.. not that much. Typing your passwords with keyboard is a lot faster and easier.

I think it looks good, but a remember me button is a must, and if not a remember me button, then an optional dialog to type the password. I feel as though it may be difficult to use this textdraw system, however; it looks amazing and it's quite awesome. Nice job overall.

I'm working on v2 with new features, i will add a remember me feature and sounds on clicking keys.

Thanks for the feedback and stay tuned! No offence taken, opinions are good for improvements.

I am not a fan of this system either, but what you could do instead is create a PIN password as a secondary password by using this system.

So you basically log in with your normal password through a dialog and then click your PIN password by using textdraws for superb security.

But then again, this isn't LoL, WoW or any other MMO in which people want to steal your login details.

^ This system works exactly the same as the dialog one, it converts your password into a hash with Whirlpool witch is the best hash plugin and will provide maximum security for the player, and against attackers. The 'remember me' feature works exactly like the auto login with the same ip feature used on the dialog system, but it gets your password length (5 characters is the minimum length) witch inputs '|' (Witch is a circle in textdraws) to make the remember me a great feature.

Once you have mentioned that, yesterday i was playing on a server and they made me an Admin there, and all of the sudden a player logs-in and printed a message (Admin Chat: Player used the command '/login 253141'). I suggest that you use different passwords on different servers, if you are not sure if your password will be stolen or not, but i can guarantee you that your password would NOT be stolen by any of the staff or attackers with this login system.

I suggest you read before commenting false information.

This, I also really love the loading/verification thing.

Obviously it's taste, but I got something I made a while ago (Never finished it, might never do, might do sometime.) but it's also with dialogs, as other people said it's easier typing and people can't see what you type in as password as easy as with the dialog keys.

Best regards,
Jesse

^ I agree the dialogs are easier to type, however if you use the 'remember me' feature you don't have to type your password again on next login, and the 'show pass' would not be clickable so you would only see circles.

I don't know wether to support this idea or not, at one hand, it will indeed 'solve' the issue with typing your password with the textdraws over and over but at the other hand (As you said it would be IP bound.) this situation could happen;

2 people, A and B.
Person A logs in, saves his password and plays. Person A stops playing, person B gets behind his own, other, PC, but could log in/play/screw with person A's account (Just needs to know person A's account name.)

See the issue?

Best regards,
Jesse

EDIT:
This is the system I was talking about my previous post:

I forgot to mention that its for the nickname also. You know why? Because it loads the ip from the players user file not from a general file and if the current ip matches the saved ip, the password will be inputted automatically otherwise they will have to re-input it.
