Hi, just making a topic so we can get more information regarding this bug.

It was a known bug since RC8, yet it wasn't addressed and 0.3a was released anyway, despite a chunk of users getting this critical bug where the game crashes on load at around 80% (before you get the server connection screen, so it's a client-side issue for sure). Tested on a clean install, where 0.2x works.

To the startposter - the CPU has nothing to do whether its an 32bit or 64bit application. Core 2 Duo CPUs are all 64bit CPUs, like all other halfway up2date CPUs (besides Intel Atom, lol).

More interesting is whether your operating system is 32bit or 64bit.


PS: My Vista HP x64 still causes crashing while pressing ESC. (not as often as in 0.2X, but still sometimes)

I only have one account on my Win7 machine, and that's Administrator. I have disabled UAC (was it enabled in the first place?), and I have successfully ran 0.2.X for months. I even managed to run RC1, 2, 3 and 4 before getting my new laptop, so I have no idea where/which beta it borked on.

It seems to not be working for people with the 32bit version.

Running as administrator has no effect, neither does any sort of compatibility mode / disabling visual styles.

All of that has been tested, so please don't come here saying that. It's definitely an issue with SA-MP and we are gathering information to help Kye fix the bug.

Can you please just post all of the information like everyone else? Installing as administrator or whatever has nothing to do with this crash, stop posting crap please as if you know better than us, it's annoying. We just want to find to what the cause of the problem is.

Hey guys, first post here.


Installing GTA on Windows 7. Nothing else important.


Running as admin I get


Error opening file for writing:C:\blahblahblah\GTA San Andreas\Samp.dll. Abort, retry, ignore?

Click ignore, Error opening file for writing, C:\Windows\System 32\d3dx9_25.dll

Then it finishes successfully, not.

And yes,I get the same crash as everyone else here.


BTW, just tried deleting the files mentioned, and reinstalling it, NO error, but it still crashes.

This is for a bug where Windows 7 users crash when loading at around 80%, not your problems. I suggest you make your own topics to get more info, as they're unrelated tho this (well the first one might be related, but I haven't gotten any of that stuff you were on about).
