Even since 2007 I knew most players would eventually be playing RP. It's just the most unique aspect of Samp, something difficult to get out of other games.
The problem was that most of large English role play servers weren't run by decent people. They were often attacking other servers or attacking SA-MP, so I had to throw many of them off the lists. That only left strict role playing servers like LS-RP standing. Some players tried to migrate there but it wasn't the style of RP they were looking for. The influx of light RP'ers probably drove some of the existing LS-RP players away too.
I started working on my own English language light RP server after 0.3.7 was released, but eventually got burned out trying to do both scripting and SA-MP development at the same time. Some servers spent years working on their scripts and I was trying to throw something together in a few months.
Anyway, if anyone out there is running, or thinking of running, a light RP server for English speaking players, I'd be happy to sponsor the server for a while with server listings, promotions here, even pay for a dedicated server if needed. Contact me if you have something in mind.
Although the big Russian servers don't cause me any problems, they don't provide much feedback so I don't know which direction to take SA-MP in. That's what I rely on the English speaking servers for.

First of all, I'm happy to see a comment on this! I can understand the fact that the resources required to keep the list running don't outweigh the attacks. I'm probably going to see that with
samp.southcla.ws and
api.samp.southcla.ws soon...
I think letting the community handle listings is a solid option to be honest. Both Discord and Minecraft do this and it takes the load off of the developers and lets the listing services create their own communities and economies purely around listing, driving up the quality of service for users.
As for that RP server, I'd actually be interested in development - I've been thinking of starting a project from scratch for a while... I'll drop you a PM about it.

Well to be honest samp is getting boring, with old style and also functionality sucks, lagging and stuff. And there is solution for that gta: o.
Best platform for rp format is samp, cause gta v map is too big for that.

I've never played GTA:V. The only GTA multiplayer that existed before SA-MP was other attempts at MP mods and the GTA2 multiplayer, which was pre-internet (LAN) gaming.
Once you take San Andreas and add SA-MP, what you end up with is something very different from GTA. I've never understood the comparisons with GTA:IV or V multiplayer.

It's very noticeable that the English community is dying.

I'd rather prefer to have a SA-MP client independent of the official one that's ran by a team of people who highly trust each other and make different tabs for it. Like Southclaw's or SickAttack's (which is now ran by someone else) SA-MP server list. Where they select servers to be in verified tab.

You do realise that is just a launcher, right?
