GTA dont work..Black screen flashes twice and then goes back to desktop? Anyone help me fix it?

Does your audio work? I know that non-functioning audio can cause crashes like this. Otherwise do the generic repair/re-install or verify integrity depending on whether you own it on steam or not. See if that does anything! Sorry I couldn't be of more specific help! Maybe someone else knows what this problem could be!

Delete your GTA_SA.set file, and try again.

Another question is what mods you are running.

Re-installed GTA twice..same problem...deleted .set still dosen't launch.

Give us Some data? Windows version? How does it flash(black, white, loadscreen)?

Flashes black,no mods..flashes twice..windows 7..worked all day until i reinstalled GTA then..played once and for the second time it just wont work.

I've got a new PC 5 months ago.. bought new video card on 15th march everything works on beasty modes but nvm...got it working :P

If you used Compatibility mode, undo the changes and install DirectX 9 if it's Windows 7 and you haven't installed it already.

If another game you had installed DirectX9, then that's what actually fixed it.
