As someone who has no involvement with roleplay servers, maybe you are at a disadvantage in thinking everything can be discussed in a single thread.

I disagree. If this were to be a sticky thread, then I think the number of posts like "y r rp server be always so bad?" and the classic "how do i get more players in my rp server?" threads will decrease because they can just ask it here.
Seeing how you often come by in the Chat Topic lately, I figured you would understand the idea of a generalized thread, it prevents spam.(Which was/is the purpose of the Chat Topic to begin with, just like with this post)
EDIT:
To contribute to the discussion: What makes a server realistic is not only dependent on it's features. It needs a solid staff that enforces the rules properly(but ofcourse not
too strictly), this is something that lacks in many servers. What is also extremely important is that the server encourages players to interact with eachother.
For example: In many servers jobs are mainly done solo. How about making jobs require others to complete?
Another example: Person A has smuggled drugs, but needs Person B to sell them.
Person A makes his money by smuggling drugs and selling them to Person B, who then sells them to the consumers for his own profit.
That's just one of the many things you could do with it!
