Nooo. What have I missed? : (
Recession period | war |
Dec 1969–Nov 1970 | Cambodian civil war, USA's major actions started in may 1970 |
Nov 1973–Mar 1975 | 1975 Spring offensive (Vietnam), started in december 1974 |
Jan–July 1980 | The only one without a directly inferfering war |
July 1981–Nov 1982 | Lebanese Civil War, August 1982 |
July 1990–Mar 1991 | Gulf War, August 1990. American no-fly zones in early 1991 |
March 2001–Nov 2001 | War on Terror, October 2001 |
Dec 2007–June 2009 | Several war on terror operations |
Its quite common logic.
Firstly, wars are a really great, maybe the best, way to boost the economy. Thats no theory, but you should actually have learned that in school. Wars do not only boost weapon industry, weapon industry boost ressource suppliers, people get hoards, and so on. Afterwards rebuilding is a huge economy booster. In other words, money flow is drastically increased. And a low money flow is one of the main problems of recessions. |
