Hey guys, I've been making a website that runs off HTML,

I'm not sure what you guys think, It's a website for my friend as mainly a test. What can I do to make it amazing?

The hover effect in the sidebar (the white color) is kinda ugly, not to mention invisible. Replace it with some other color.

Not bad for a first site, I've seen a lot worse. Keep improving.

It looks good for a first, The long text on the side, maybe move it, so it doesnt look all squashed, add a bar for the copyright, instead of having it as just 'text'. and for the pictures, maybe the same color's you have for the home page (yes the 2 side colors). Oh yeah, The nav bar, try to keep all the text inside the lines.

I personally like the layout of the website. You only have to focus on the effects you want to put on the website. For example: rounded borders, menu animation, transparent background, gradient background, etc.

Alright, Thanks guys! I'm using Dreamweaver, Is there anything better than Dreamweaver? I'm not the highest in terms of knowledge in HTML.

What does Bootstrap do?

For web designing, you can simply use notepad. When I design and make web pages, I use notepad++.

What ever happens do not use Bootstrap. If you are still new to CSS and want to be able to code proper CSS on your own then I suggest you not to use Bootstrap.

Bootstrap is a CSS framework. It simply has CSS UI elements which make it easier for anyone to use. But it is highly overused imo. I am not saying Bootstrap is bad. It's just a spoiler for people who want to learn proper CSS coding.
