Well im thiking of buying VPS, Its 150GB HDD, And it has 2GB of RAM, Well a question. How many server can i host in VPS? And does it make lag if i host to much?
As i heard from my friends(not from him, that's why i quoted),its not a very good idea to host a server through VPS as it lags and slower than dedicated server.
it will be better to host a website through it or something similiar, but nothing too powerful\strong. VPS can host up to 100 servers at once if he has enough power for it. some VPS's can host only 10 servers at once because their specs are too low to run more. Can you provide more information than that ? because i heard it has a proccecor and if it has than it will depend on it too. |
That is highly false, a VPS machine can run a SAMP server great.

why are you argueing ? why are you tring to be a smartass.
VPS = Virtual Pivate Server Dedicated server why do you think that partitioning a physical server into multiple servers (VPS's) is better than running all on the physical serrver. if you have VPS than you're taking a part from the physical server, means the physical server sharing his RAM,internet speed and CPU with a few more VPS's. and if you run a server through the physical server than you don't share anything with anyone. Full speed goes to you. seriously, don't know anything about servers, than don't argue about it. Learn to read. |
Why do you always intend on calling people smartasses, when in fact you have no clue on what it is you're talking about. I've already pointed you out to be wrong a few hours ago, so I'll refrain from doing so twice within a day. However, he is not the one starting the argument, YOU are. He simply stated his opinion, and you claim he was starting and argument and called him a "smartass".
Please, go somewhere with your idiotic attitude and little knowledge. You are really getting to me, claiming others are trying to prove themselves are smarter than everyone else when that is really what you are doing. At least if you are going to do so, make sure your facts are straight. |
xkirill, VPS can run OR NOT sa-mp game servers.
It totally depends on the dedicated servers, which they're running. If you think to host a vps on a dedicated which do not have VIRTUALIZATION system, of course it will totally lag, If you host on a dedicated which have VIRTUALIZATION system, it isn't going to lag, Then is the cpu / ram which you need to take a look. And stop calling smartass, maybe you're trying to be the one. |
The CPU and RAM load will be entirely dependant on your script, however it's extremely uncommon for a SA-MP server to use more than 50mb of RAM.
As for OS, Windows or 32-bit Linux, whichever you want. As for bandwidth, assume approx 40kbit (0.04 mbit) per player, which will vary depending on how many players and objects are in the radius of each player. |
I've not started the agrument,if you'll see my first post here you'll see that i've quoted somebody else.
and than he quoted me and told me that i am wrong. and please, learn to read,i didn't said it can not run a samp server. only that it laggs. the only argument you see here is about if the VPS will lag or not, that's all. That's the reason why i call people "Smartass" because you don't read the whole comments, you're just reading the first post you see and comment on it. When people will learn to read before posting, than i willn't have something to say about it and than i will not call anybody "smartass". |
You are clueless.
Firstly, I have read all the posts in this topic before replying. Secondly, he did not argue, just give his side/opinion, just like you or your "friend" did. Thirdly, you started the argument by being rude and calling him a smartass, at which point you decided to pull out your "facts" that really don't have any factual information. I want you to prove me wrong. Go rent a VPS and record your gameplay, showing me this lag. As long as you have decent connection speed and specs, it would run perfectly fine. |
I didn't ask for opinion on my posts.
Don't like it ? keep moving down,i didn't ask for you to tell me if i wrong or not. like it ? same. i am not going to spend 10$ just to show some guy on samp that i am wrong\right. go a head and spend some money by yourself just to prove that you are\somebody is wrong\right. |
Maybe they're tring to be one.
anyway,i would agree with you. never heard about such a thing called "Virtualization" but isn't it comes with it when you buy it ? |
Nor do I care whether or not you want to hear - in the end, you will! Especially when you act like a "smartass" with having little or no knowledge on the subjects you are trying to share your wonderful brain power on. You start arguments and try to act like a savoir.
Regardless, I'm over here. No sense on continuing to feed someone who cannot even bother to take the time to look something up before accusing someone of not knowing something . |
Operating system virtualization @ http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Operati...virtualization
hardware virtualization @ http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hardware_virtualization @edit, with some hp pc's, hardware virtualization is already installed, like on my other pc. |
I have a small knowledge ?
if i would have a small knowledge i would never post here. and I didn't start any argument, you've started it by yourself and now you're just blaming everybody else just to not get out guilty. Yea,i had a working HP PC in my house untill it died. it had a server built-in,but never knew how to access that server + it was an old pc. Actually not only HP has server built-in,i had non-HP pc and i could run servers, somehow (no idea how,i was 9 years old and i just loved to open servers through server manager or something like that,it was a program, nothing hard, all i had to do is open the program and it starts the server auto') |
