Servers which use a free forum service are bad servers.
Depends, usually yes. I've seen huge gaming communities that started of a SMF forum, no website and no shit, and became one of the 'hit' servers, but when it comes to RP servers, having a free forum service is considered shit.

Yes, that's why I prefer to have a custom skin on the forum regardless it's a bought/ free forum software.
