[IDEA] Complex economy system

Hey,

I just wanted to post a reply to this because it's something I'm actually sort of scripting right now. My RP community has been sorta dead lately but a few fans still hang around the forums and IRC and what not, but anyway to the jist.

For the last year or two I've been thinking about moving my script off the standard "sa-mp economy" and move it towards a player oriented/automated hybrid market economy.

I have the base layout for everything you've actually explained.

Raw materials will be extracted with a few of the player jobs such as wood cutting (raw rood), fishing and farming (raw food), Mining in the quarry (this may be automated or player done dunno yet but raw ore), Oilfields (raw petroleum)

The trucking job would then take these materials from their respective points of origin and take them to the proper factories/processing facilities such as saw mills, refineries that would actually turn them into the advanced resources that then the truckers would again move to the respective factories for change into final products.

At that point the end user items would end up in distribution centers across the map for whatever needs they may have.

I've even went so far as to re scripting my entire items system. And I even created portable containers to store the items (still in progress script wise) because my goal was to be able to create any item, any container and have it transportable either through player inventory (the item can be 'used' in the player inventory system versus a separate command for each item) and the item can be stored anywhere. A vehicle trunk, or dropped to save in a house or somewhere else on the map.

I've been role playing for a -really- long time and not just on samp. And after doing it a few years on samp I realized that the world we create IN samp can be much more diverse and expansive then people realize and started scripting my mode to match it.

I'm currently rewriting the entire thing but by the time I'm done I should have in some form everything you've mentioned because like I said I've thought about it, talked about it with other people in my community, the admins and what not for a couple of years now and we're finally at the point where we want to implement all of it because we want "More" then what everyone else is currently offering.

Whether or not it'll be popular is another story, people are 'used' to the way 'sa-mp role play' is and really what you see normally when you role play on samp is a red headed step child to what it actually COULD be. And really even if it doesn't end up as being a 'top server' it's still a better place for myself and those like me who actually do want to role play without the bs.

My mode was already dynamic from the start, I've been using mysql since 2008 when I started scripting and never learned how to write to a file lol. Slowly my dynamic items system has been evolving and its reached a point now where it can be/do almost anything. Which is why I'm rewriting my script because really for it to expand I had to get rid of alot of constraints and limitations it had to make it even more dynamic.

Anyway in the coming weeks/months I'll probably post videos, not to advertise mind you but to show you what can be done when you use your imagination to think 'outside the box' a little bit.

But points to you dude for thinking outside of it yourself you basically have the same thoughts I've been having and it's a wonderful thing to see.

The server in my signature (Hostile Core) has quite an advanced economy system, many companies and shops are dependant on the supply of other companies for example. I'm not sure if the server is still really continued, but the system was just amazing.

Its still a quite unique topic, so i find it quite amazing that someone actually responds to it. So imo this is good example for bumping

Liking the idea.
My CNR server would have the things like trucking in it with products that truckers NEED to deliver for the shops to function, but not some advanced economy like this.
Also, it is kinda boring robbing, raping, and blowing shizzle up all day (apart from the blowing stuff up).
