So I got gta san andreas from steam and i down graded it to v1.0 and installed samp, i changed the compatability to win xp service pack 3 for samp.exe and the gta_sa.exe and so it runs as admin.

But samp still crashes when its almost done loading (the bar on the bottom left) when i join a server and it gives me this error:

Are you using the steam gta sa.exe? Because that wont work.

I have same problem.
You did install samp 0.3.7 RC 1 or 2 with the SAMP 0.3z or thing? Because gtaweap3.tff not be read because, the 0.3.7 samp have other gtaweap3 and 0.3z Other not same.

If you dont have any mods, try getting the audio files from non-steam version of the game, don't know whether you get complete audio files when you downgrade steam version.
