i have got a laptop with HDMI output, i want to connect to it to my non HDMI screen (VGA)

1$ for an active digital-analog converter sounds fishy. It works, but expect a blurry image for higher resolutions, as those cheap converters usually suck.
Nothing to lose for a dollar though.

vga is analog and hdmi is digital, you have to converter another first, and those are like 40 dollars usd on amazon, last time i saw i think
