soldering is fun ^^

btw: the mass-cable from the computer sided plug can easily be split into 2 separate cables, you need a mass at each connection, else you'll hear bad (most prolly: none at all) noise. the inner cables (well isolated one at each moni plug) are transmitting the "true" signal. the outer fiddled cables are the isolation - the mass.
i didnt read that wiki page, since iam already used to do little fixing stuff like that. iam sure youll find everything you need there heh

a subwoofer uses 1 channel only, so: yes!
hence those "5.1" systems. they use 4 sattelite boxes (mid-high frequencies), while the subwoofer uses 1 line. thats indicated by the ".1" (like being subtracted from the "5." amount of speakers (i used "boxes" and "speakers", its the same thing)...
oh, better have a look here, i suck at explaining some(MOST)times: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/5.1
