I'm just going to say don't go with a game hosting company.
buy from a dedicated server if you're running a big server and hosting some major applications, look at OVH for budget kimsufis work great.
USA hosts out of black lotus in LA.

I agree with you that cheap doesn't always mean quality-- (even though we are a testament to that). Whilst I'd encourage you try us (I believe I sent you a PM), If you really want a VPS-- what you have should do the job alright, but I'd advise sticking a bit more RAM on it.
You're not really getting much for what you are paying for in all honesty, but that's up to you.
