Help Please

I downloaded a mirror for MP and I've gotten up to the stage where I choose an install location, now I have found the San andreas folder but it doesn't allow me to click OK

It must be the folder which all the game files are in (like gta_sa.exe), most likely C:\Program Files\Rockstar Games\GTA San Andreas

Oh wait, I got the MP file into the GTA SA main file but now when I go into the actual game it doesn't work........

Yeah, if you just installed it from a GTA:SA CD/DVD, you will probably need to downgrade it to version 1.0.

Umm, I go into it then it just goes to a black screen then it stays like that unless I do CTRL+ALT+Delete and then it says it stopped responding.

Umm, I go into it then it just goes to a black screen then it stays like that unless I do CTRL+ALT+Delete and then it says it stopped responding.
I'm not sure that's a SA-MP problem. Are you sure GTA worked before you installed SA-MP?
If you're using Vista, try setting program compatibility on gta_sa.exe (try different settings)
