I've read every topic i can find on the issue of the game not starting when you connect to a server. You hit connect then nothing happens. Earlier this afternoon everything was working and i was playing the game. I haven't changed a thing in my folders and now all of the sudden it just wont start up. I can still play the single player mode just fine with no problems. There is no d3xd9.dll file anywhere. I have deleted that user file that everyone says to delete. I've looked up the trouble shooting. FAQ. Changed around the compatibilities. I've uninstalled and installed numerous times. It is downgraded.

same problem here tryed windows 2000 afther loading crash

Try to use the System Restore to Restore your System back to a earlier Point. But if you can't do that, I would prefer you to re-install your Windows (only if nothing helps).
