Server on list, but cannot connect
#1

Hello,

I've recently started up a server with my friend. I am hosting it on my servercomputer with a steady 100/100 line. I've forwarded port 7777 UDP and TCP, I've closed my router firewall AND my Windows firewall.
I went to http://www.whatismyip.com/ and I got the IP, I posted it to my friend, and it shows up on his serverlist, and it does on mine too. So far so good, though we cannot connect to the server! It just says "Retrying connection...etc".

So do anyone of you guys know the problem?

Make sure both the server and client are the same version (02x).

if your connected to the router you gotta connect to your router ip or localhost:7777 etc. to see your router ip just go to control panel on windows than network connections find your network and it will show a ip for it 192.168.x.x etc use that ip, but everyone else will be your normal ip on www.whatismyip.com etc.

hope it helps. Mr187.

I can connect, via my local IP to my server. But my friends cannot connect to my server through the http://www.whatismyip.com/ what so ever. So that is not the solution. Thanks anyways. Does anyone else have the answer?

Your servr is broadcasting to the internet. The outgoing connection is fine, is there a firewall blocking incoming traffic?

No there is not, I've disabled the firewall on both the router AND the servercomputer. (Windows Firewall)

Anything else?

They can still connect to other servers. The versions is correct. So, any other hints?
