There are some legal issues that are limited only to Korea.
Otherwise, Greene himself stated that he supports Fortnite and any other BR game that brings something new to the table.
Don't treat this as an attempt to take down the competition, cause it's not.

That's actually true. Unreal Engine 4 was indeed created and licensed by Epic Games.
PUBG did pay substantial amounts of money in order to use the engine.
However Epic Games apparently used PUBG to promote their own game and copied some of its features. That's where the problems rise.
They apparently didn't discuss not at least notify PUBG corp about it. They took their money and kinda went behind their backs to gain even more.
At least that's what PUBG Corp claims.
