Back at 2009 Mediafire was decent and lot of people used to host their scripts there. There were no extreme ads as far as I remember, only a 30 second countdown. Well, now... Mediafire has become something terrible. But I'm pretty sure that you can still find old scripts hosted on Mediafire, killed with ads and different shit like that tho.

It's actually personal preference where to host scripts, be it mediafire, pastebin, git or any other hosting company. Some are worse than the other some are better.

I'm not advertising or anything, but I see nothing wrong with it. Seriously, no ads...

+1.. Mediafire is great, people have different opinions though and that's normal.

If you want to publish your code, just use GitHub.

This, and a site overlay that opens popups on first click, which is an absolute no-go for me

Never in my life will I say MediaFire is great.
You get redirected to a mediafire link, it'll open up some chrome extension shit and ask you to allow notifications. Then when you block, it'll go to the main download page and it'll open a new advertisement in a second window.
The download page itself is 70% adverts.

Do you know about adblockers and popup blockers?
Addons you should use: uBlock Origin, NoCoin, PopUp Blocker

Yeah, there are people who have issues with ad blockers, apparently.
I'll rephrase it, then. Putting ads aside, since you can get rid of them quite easily, Mediafire is a decent filesharing service.
