I was always confused about this one. Do game requirements show RAM that is needed to just run this game or as a whole in your system?

A game requires both VRAM and regular RAM to run. Differrent games require different amounts, and theres different speeds for each. For example, I have 8gb DDr4 RAMand 2gb GDDr5 VRAM in my PC. Games primarily use your VRAM. Hope I answered your question?

I'm talking about simple memory. If the game X requires 4GB of RAM, does it mean the game is going to use that amount of memory or that my system is supposed to be equipped with 4GB of RAM to handle the game + everything else (like the OS)?
