I'm planning to open a server of DayZ/zombies and I need some information regarding it.

1) What does "DayZ" literally mean?
2) What are the major features of a dayz/zombies server? (Some explanation about each would be really appreciated)
3) What are your top most desired features in such a server?

go play the real thing and find out for yourself, it's kinda funny to me that you're trying to recreate something that you never experienced for yourself

you might not even like the game after you tried it, many people don't
