Servers with detailed trucking activities
#1

Are there any RP/general servers that include trucking as an activity to do? I'm looking for detailed interesting script that maybe includes supply and demand, plausible movement of cargo across the map, deadlines, different load types. In the past I played on Truckmania, which was quite good, but every route inevitably turned into a boring race once perfected. An obstacle for checking the servers myself is that there is typically some grinding required before trucking becomes available, such as level 1 jobs or getting a drivers license.

I have seen some trucking servers but they're really strict. idk if they're still around though

OT: There's currently less trucking activities on a roleplay server because most of the roleplayers desire to act like a Gangster and not a Trucker in their lives.

OFT: I was going to open a trucking server (World Of Trucks) based on roleplay server but i stopped the development months ago.

There's a server called Convoy Trucking.
There have been attacks lately from an idiot, but the server is awesome. You should try it.
They mapped very large islands around the original map. You can see the surface covered on their webiste with the G-Maps API.
They even have a working fery.

Thanks mates. I recently started playing in Convoy Trucking. I am worried that the server might close because of the attacks. The map is indeed well done without sharp edges that damage the vehicle and fair number of objects. The jobs appear to have less variety than in TM though (for example, we load all outputs of an industry, packed, liquid, valuables, from same marker, all fuel refineries produce the same fuel).

Try LS-RP.

The server is very resilient. They had bigger issues than one idiot cheater, and they survived.

Currently in Brazil there is a lot of competition.

Now International, I know Convoy Trucking.
Another one that is currently offline is the Truckmania.

The LS-RP script is just what I was looking for. I've studied and understand the rules, but unfortunately I cannot get past the character story part. I'm not a writer, and don't know examples of other people's lives that could be adapted. I was hoping to join when there are few players, probably at night, and watch from the side and learn how RP process occurs.

Is the selection of trucks limited to the Linerunner, according to the guide?

The CT map could use more interconnection between the islands. I remember how we could go between Long Point (Sandus), and Yellowknife (Narwick), and I think even Islamorada (Isle de Hax) around the map on TM. Only Arid County (Redstone/Olafswijk) was isolated. Mafia and Police would usually spawn on the mainland, and I could bypass them on the islands and transport overloaded alcohol there... The remote Narwick is a bit like Long Point.

Rather unusual that they give all expensive vehicles on CT to steal or respray.

Truckmania was a great server, I played on and off for a good 6-7 years although I couldn't sit at it all day. It's a shame the community finally died.

Convoy Trucking is a good server but I've never really got into their community and I only play once every week or so, however the map size is massive and much more detailed than Truckmania was.

SAPilots or ThePilotsLife has an option to become a trucker but I'm not sure if the custom mapping spans for truckers as well as pilots.

Los Santos Roleplay is a decent option for dead-realistic trucking. Loading and unloading complete with an export ship, the only downside for you is this server is all-round heavy RP (or close enough). This means that you have to grind to be able to operate larger trucks and trailers/beds.

All-in-all, I can't say there's an entirely perfect one around at the minute.

American Trucking was okay.

A player informed me that another server has obtained the TruckMania script and map. It is called Romania National Trucking. I recognize some elements borrowed from the CT map too. Confusion arises because they have also renamed all locations for unknown reason (Daugava - Plum Town, Woodland Keys - Greenland, Sunset Keys - Detroy, Nash Creek - St. Clements, Vanuatu - Huntsville, Dillimore - Santier New Town). The islands are indeed carbon copies of TM, down to the polygon glitch on the road to Sunset Keys. The user interface resembles TM (we have payslip for waybill, classes and trucker ranks), but it is partly in Romanian even if English is selected.

The base map is filled with new objects, trees, road works, and bot actors, which is quite nice. Players can purchase businesses. It seems that the server is operated somewhat chaotically. I saw most trucks damaged and scattered, high class users teleported around, admins healed trucks for no reason, cops rammed and detached my trailer.

TruckMania had much easier money than CT. I had a nice house, all work vehicles and a helicopter (but no sports cars). Vehicle prices seemed to make more sense. I get an impression that this copy server gives about twice the amount of TM money to attract players.

The description of the LS-RP trucker job seems quite appealing to me. I like driving slowly on the correct side, and explore the map (in most games). If they require real-time hours in a Sadler driving around the countryside, that is not grinding to me. Problem is I haven't met a trucker in real life, or a gangster or a police officer, so I cannot write a plausible story for my character. I wish somebody could write one for me...

Grinding seems to occur on CT a lot, where I have to do the same missions many times to earn enough score/money. Once I know the static map layout, even I'm encouraged to speed excessively through it.

The application process is pretty easy. It generally filters out bad English speakers () and people who don't know how to roleplay.

Yet the remaining player base is just that, people that don't know how to roleplay

I imagine there are multiple ways to cheat the system. There are services that sell applications to get in.
