August 20, 2008 - Many PC gamers have been eagerly awaiting The Sims 3, the upcoming title from Maxis and Electronic Arts. For a while now, it's been known that the game would be released in the first quarter of 2009, but no specifics were known outside of that. 
At the German Games Convention in Leipzig, EA announced at their press conference that the game will ship on February 20 of next year. 
What's more, the title will also be available as a digital download on the same day that it is released to retail.
