Preventing player from fully dying.

I'm wondering if there is any possible way to prevent a player from dying, while still calling OnPlayerTakeDamage and everything normally. I'm currently setting the players health to 20 in OnPlayerTakeDamage if they're considered dead through my script, which works for melee attacks, although still allows the player to die if shot at.

I've tried using OnPlayerWeaponShot, which semi works, although has some drawbacks (such as no bodypart detection). I know this is possible, LS:RP does it for example (and have done even since the weapon shot callback). I know Slice's weapon config include exists, although I'm confident there's other methods for doing this which I'd like to explore before moving to that.

Any suggestions?
