At I'd say i didn't really know where to post it but since I am posting in this section mostly I decided to do so even now...

I am using 150 zombies (NPCs) in my server and its kinda working fine my question is, do NPCs cause lag if I increase number? Like 500?

They move hit and so on (when someone gets near)

How many would be fine with lag-free.

I think so no because they are connecting from localhost just make sure that you're server is hosted at a good place.

Although there is not limit for NPC's because they're counted as players.

Every NPC that connects spawns a new process on the server (talking about the actual host here, not the SA-MP server). This evidently increases memory usage and CPU workload. You can connect as many NPCs as your system can comfortably handle. Multi core systems with enough spare RAM should cope better than single core systems with little RAM.

What would you choose for 2 servers, 1 with kinda 30 playerbase & other with 80+ playerbase + 300 zombies

I'd go for the second one or more (If available) for better performance.
