So, i want to go back to the old gta3.img, the default one. So i get my backup and copy it over and it somehow doesnt work. I do have quite a few mods on so i thought, i will reinstall the game fully vanilla. So i uninstall my previous version, install the correct version, install samp, run the game and then it crashes straight away without even loading up.
NOTE: My modded version of the game is 100% compatible with samp and i play hours a day without no crashing.
any ideas?

Open the default version of the game with your IMG tool and copy everything.
Go to your modded version open it with the tool and paste everything then click on Rebuild.

After rebuilding it said "Failed to write entrydata", i use alci img editor. I tried to load it up but it wouldnt get past the loading screen.

Right i tried it but froze where i put my password in for the server

Don't mess directly with img files.

Did you delete all mods (especially those from *.img files)? Because modloader must be used with a clean GTA installation.

All you need to do is download a backup of original data folder
Place the wole data folder in your game directory, also dont forgot to backup your current data folder
I also got this problem once because the data contain script that has many versons and doesnt suit with img

Mods are unsupported and generally screw your install.

i fixed it and use mods fine now, i did clean install and it never worked so mods>vanilla :P
