Help Building A Computer. (Just need opinions)
#1

Soo, I am building a computer, mostly for programming and some gaming; but it will be some big games like GTA 5, Fallout and Farcry..

My budget is around $350-$400, And yes its kinda strict... I am willing to run the games at low-to-medium settings only though.. I dont care that much about gfx quality but just don't lag.

I did already try and build my own here: https://pcpartpicker.com/user/Ahmad45123/saved/cV7mP6
And I just need opinions about it.. Will the Pentium CPU do the job or not ?

Thanks in advanced

Nope, Pentium would lag as hell.

That CPU is a bottleneck. If you'd like to play AAA games on this PC in future, then you should consider getting a better CPU like an i3 or even an i5. i3 is like $30 more expensive than that Pentium, but it will make a difference for sure.

For instance, I've been using an Intel Core i5 IvyBridge (3rd gen) since it was launched back in 2012 and the CPU usage barely goes higher than 10% browsing and not higher than 50% when playing GTA V 1080p.

I also have an AMD based laptop manufactured in 2015 that I use mainly for coding. It works great until it is about compiling since it is like 10-15 times slower than my 2012 Intel CPU.

You could use an AMD-FX processor series, they cost almost the same as the Intel but only are more convenient with that GPU and the price is almost likewise.

I have changed to an Intel Core i3-6100, It costs a little more and really better. (Thanks to @Spmn)

I did think about AMD before, And they will actually be much cheaper since they don't have a GPU integrated.
Which one do you suggest exactly ?

Really Appreciated.

You can wait untill the end of 2016 and get an AMD Zen processor there are speculations that the single core performance will be around Haswell and w/o the iGPU it'll be able to offer more cores.
The AMD FX6300 should be around the same price as the i3 6100 and has a higher benchmark score http://prntscr.com/akoy2j
Yes lower single core performance but if you're also planning to play DX12 games later on, there have been tests that show that more cores are better.

And for the graphics card, if I were you, get an AMD they perform as good as NVidia at a lower price mostly and will certainly be better at your budget.
I've got an R9 390 and looking at DirectX12 benchmarks I'm happy with my decision, last thing I read a 290X was as fast as a Titan X (http://www.eteknix.com/amd-r9-290x-g...n-x-with-dx12/)

Well I hope I helped you,
thanks for reading.

tl;dr: Get an AMD FX6300, and an AMD graphics card better DX12 performance and decent DX11 performance (almost as fast as competition, maybe 5fps difference)

E: Oh and about AMD being hot, this is actually pretty ok, I'm using an FX 8320 for my homeserver and it's performing well only the noise was annoying me and I installed a Hyper 212

You could still get a G3258, probably. The only budget processor that can overclock. Requires a Z-series motherboard though. But $350 is just not enough. Even consoles are more expensive. And we all know what a crappy job they do.

I do know that $350 is pretty low tbh, But am poor xD
Seriously though, Its pretty much my first PC (Always had a laptop only).. I don't want it to run everything at highest settings but just at least at low-med settings.. Plus, I will be playing most likely like once a week if not a month xd.. I am mostly programming and scripting.

Anyways, I will be thinking to switch to AMD, they have better stuff for the price.. Intel needs more $$$.

Anything from AMD-FX 6300 up to 8350 (if you decide to spend more on the CPU, but the 6350 is the most recommended one, and benchmarks show that they're like 10 times better and they cost 10 bucks more than the 6300.)
