SAMPLogManager - Yet another chatlog backup tool
#1

Your previous SAMP chatlog gets overwritten when you join a new server - thats shit. So, I have made something that automatically copies them to a folder so they don't get overwritten.

That creates a new problem for any enthusiastic SAMP aficionado. Too many god damn chatlogs. How are you supposed to find the one you're looking for?
Wouldn't it be awesome If a bunch of info about that game session was stored with that chatlog. Stuff like how long you were online, what server you were on, what nickname you were using, what time you joined, what time you left.
Well, that is what this wonderful thing does. It also lets you view all your chatlogs in a nice organized window.
The program also leaves the chatlog contents completely untouched. It merely changes the name.

The chatlog viewer
Can be accessed by either choosing View logs in the right click menu of the tray icon or by double clicking on the tray icon.
Lets you sort your chatlogs by:
  • Time of backup
  • Server join time
  • Server leave time
  • Nickname
  • Playtime
  • Server IP
  • Server name
Installation/Setup
Download the executable.
Create a folder where you want the program to keep all its assets and store the chatlogs.
Place the executable in the aforementioned folder.
Run the executable.
Choose whether you want it to run on startup or not.
Choose the location of your chatlog.txt file - It dosen't matter if there is one there currently.
Woilah, Now your chatlogs should be backed up using wizardry.

Version 2 - Slight reliability improvements
It now automatically falls back to using command line commands "copy" and "del" incase it detects that AutoHotkeys FileCopy and FileDelete haven't worked.
Download
Source code
VirusTotal scan (3/56), Because why not.

Version 1 - Initial release

Eagerly awaiting both your positive and negative feedback.

Nice tool. As far as I see, this is meant for players. Would be cool if you would create a toll for server logs management as well.

Useful, maybe. But I'd rather use something like revctrl.

edit: Oh, just found out this is for players. I thought this was for changelogs lol

On this forum, everything released has to be accompanied by the source code. So please include this in your post.

Include All Source Code - Scripts or other programmed things released on these forums MUST include ALL source. If you do not wish to include the source code that is your right, and you are free to release binary-only versions elsewhere, this is only a condition for releasing programs here.

Sadly, You need to include the source code or its gonna get deleted.

You joined this forum a few days ago and this is your very first post, why would we trust you? Why would we download something, where the source code has not been provided (which is against the rules of this forum), made by someone who evidently just joined our community? Not to mention someone with the word "hacker" in their name.

If anyone is stupid enough to download this then they deserve to be hacked.

I encourage everyone to stay away from it until the source code is provided.

I added the source code to the main post. It was written using AutoHotkey. It may give compile errors If its missing the image files. If someone wants to compile it from source than here are the image files:

https://www.dropbox.com/s/g56n4qtxh4...anner.png?dl=0
https://www.dropbox.com/s/g56n4qtxh406566/fail.png?dl=0
https://www.dropbox.com/s/g56n4qtxh406566/Icon.ico?dl=0
https://www.dropbox.com/s/g56n4qtxh4...ccess.png?dl=0

If you want to use your own image files than as long as the file name and type are the same they should work.

The 2 UrlDownloadToFile commands retrieve 2 pastebin documents. One containing a current version number to allow automatic notification of a new version. And the other contains the homepage so that users can simply download a newer version if one exists.

Why do you have to be rude to the new users?
At least he's doing something good... and not fighting with everybody
He even provided the source... not his fault you don't know how to look in the source

It wasn't rude at all, it's perfectly acceptable not to trust someone who says "download this" when it's their first post, they're new here, and there was no source code. No, he did not provide the source code initially, he edited his post after a few users pointed out that it was against the rules. Please don't comment on things when you don't have the facts. And the last sentence of your post was rude, don't tell others not to be rude and then be rude yourself. That's called being a hypocrite. Thanks.
