Hey all,

Im just wondering if there anything out there similar to codeschool / Codecademy that can be used to learn Pawn?

I am thinking of making one if one doesn't already exist.

There isn't anything like that out there right now. I like the idea of making one, although the attitude of new scripters can be a problem. Most of them want to make their own server with a leaked gamemode and don't have any time to learn scripting basics.

AHa, yeah. I think a lot of new scriptesr have been like that since Godfather was released >< Im not gonna lie though, my programming journey all started with Godfather over 5 years ago! Got a lot of love for that headache of a script.

A site like codecademy would be nice for new scripters to get started though. Meaning they can learn basics without even downloading Pawn. Im not sure how easy it would be, i hardly do any programming anymore, i just find myself learning bits here and there- But would love to look into how these web apps are made and maybe (even if its just a couple) create some tutorials for Pawn.

anyone know how these web apps are made? (jquery im guessing? lol?) one of the things im concerned about is the syntax checking.... Im hoping there is a tool/library that I could use for this, rathter than literally just checking strings and designing a system from scratch.

Really the best way to learn PAWN is just to look at other scripts and at the handful of tutorials that are actually well-written. Not enough people use PAWN to make it worth setting up courses for it.
