Why did ****** have to delete his work? (P.S. Anybody have YSI 3 and sscanf2?)
#1

As the title states, I worked around pawno using some of ******'s scripts. I see people are still releasing scripts with his extensions (y_ini for example), so I was wondering if anyone can lend me those scripts, or if I should revert to standard pawno reading and writing?

MySQL is only an option for people who learned it before SAMP. I have yet to meet any person that learned strictly for the purpose of SAMP servers. y_ini was a nice medium. It was great for advanced scripters, and could be learned by anyone easily. I remember when I first learned HOW to script in y_ini. Before that I would copy/paste code, but I actually learned it. Afterwords, it was not difficult to do any script. I could write nearly any script I set my mind to. I have yet to complete a "successful" gamemode.

Yes, a quick search in the plugins and such you will find them.

2: Not really, I didn't know MySQL until I followed tutorials on the forums.

YSI 3: https://github.com/Misiur/YSI (thread: https://sampforum.blast.hk/showthread.php?tid=570883)
Sscanf: https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/...canf-2.8.2.zip (thread: https://sampforum.blast.hk/showthread.php?tid=570927)

Most of his threads (includes, plugins, tutorials) have been re-posted by the way.

PS: pawno is the editor.

Not really, as I knew nothing and learned how to use it.
I'd actually say was quite the opposite for me as it helped with the SQL I did in the University (with the knowledge I had for using mysql (the queries basically) for samp).

I didn't know how to use MySQL before I started scripting for SA:MP.

I tried searching the forums and nothing came up.

Thanks for the links, and I didn't think his threads would ever be resurrected lol.

And now I know 3 people that learned MySQL for SAMP. I honestly don't find a need for it, and if SAMP dies out in the next year or two then that knowledge doesn't seem relevant. Neither does Pawno when you think about it.

Maybe SAMP will upgrade to GTA 5, "VMP." And included Pawn script...I would be very ecstatic.

SQL is extremely relevant in the real world.. it is used in most of the websites you visit plus loads of other applications.

PAWN may not be as relevant in the real world but the skills of learning how to code carry huge weight when learning new languages. I started with Pawn almost 10 years ago and have been working as a developer for the past 8 years... my first job was because someone found me through SA-MP

Thanks for clarifying, makes pawn look a little more...withstanding. I've been avoiding scripting for a long time because I felt like there was no point if SAMP died. I might work on a unique gm. I've had an idea to do one for a long time but never went through with it. Been caught up in trying to make an RP gamemode. My gm was lost though from a computer reformat several months ago.

About the V thing, Pawn is very outdated I don't think they'll use it.

The MYQSL is working just fine other than PAWN :3 so I guess that would work too

What are you saying? I said Pawn will not be supported in the V mods. MySQL will obviously be supported.

So that's why MYQSL is better than PAWN :P

... What? MySQL and PAWN are 2 different things. MySQL is used for websites like Microsoft amazon ebay and such game consoles R* social club. PAWN is well, used for SA-MP (I know it's used for more stuff but I don't know)

I learned SQL just for SA-MP... It was worth it. Look for SQLitei by Slice for easier SQLite use if you don't want to set up MySQL database.

SQLite doesn't have online database so it's as easy to handle as normal file system.

Pizzas are eatable than cats but your logic here isn't really clear to the topic. I'm trying to say was MYQSL is a better software than Pawn because Pawn isn't supported with V MODS unlike MYQSL that is completely supported.
