A fresh new project! Take a looksey!
#1

Hello everyone!

I've been having a 2-3 year break from Sa-mp merely because the main server I was on got shut down..

Recently i've joined several of high populated well known servers, as well as little ones, to see if I can get back on the horse.. And one thing they all had in common was that the server script was great and the features were awesome!

However, if you asked me the day or even the hour after joining them i'd still say that I would never want to play there ever again.. Why you ask? Because the quality of admins were absolute rubbish. The sarcastic, condescending people so called admins, that exist in these servers are just enough for me to say, "hey i'm out". I'd rather play on a shit script, with great friendly and helpfull people, than those I just mentioned about..

I'm not trying to put out anyone, just expressing how I felt coming back to SA:MP. Now the whole point of this post is that I have a project that I want to see come alive. I have money, and I want to invest.

Let's create a server like no one before. Where the staff are friendly, have minimal admin powers, and make them almost on the same level as the players. Because thats how it should be like right? I mean an admin is to keep bad people out, not to flash out a title and pretend to be a big shot just because you are an admin? Am I right?

So i'm on the lookout for 3-4 people who share the same vision as me to get this project starting! The more the merrier though!

Here are some of my ideas for the project:

-Faction systems have less power.

Just an example...
When a policeman exits the vehicle, and an ordinary pedestrian decides to steal the cop car while he ain't watching, is it normal that he will automatically get ejected with a small text on the upper left corner saying "You are not a member of the xxPD?"

Of course not! My main idea is that no matter what faction you are in, if you don't lock your cars, anyone can get into them... As long as it is done in a proper way of course...

-No more levels!

This is probably not new at all, but I don't want any scores telling how long you've been on the server. What defines you as a good and loyal player is not by how long you've been logged on to recieve a payday just to level up...

-High quality admins.

If you want to be an admin, then be one because you want to help others, not just for show.. Thats what they are for.. Oh and well of course if you have to occasionally kick someone because they were hacking or whatever valid reason it was.

-Not so many rules

Hear me out.. I mean some basic rules are obvious.. Like PG and DM. But i'm talking about simple things.. Like getting a job and such. Setting up a faction etc etc. Put alot of rules and restraints on a server, and that already ruins some of the experience in my opinion..

An example: Let's say I want to roleplay as one of my favorite characters from "trailer park boys", Jim Lahey, a park "supervisor". Now why would I put rules on the server that say you can't use names from popular tv shows? And then I decide hey... I want to start my own law enforcement.. Sure, go ahead! If there is an existing police force attached to a government then maybe you should have a word with them first, but even if you don't you can! I'm not saying it'll work very well, you would probably get shut down by the biggest law enforcement faction, but at least you get the opportunity to do such a thing!

Catch my drift?

I am very excited to start this project, and I hope someone else is just as eager to get this going as me!

I want to set some terms for those who are interested in this project and feel they can contribute to it:

-At least 18 years old.
-Able to use teamspeak.
-Have experience in RPing in SA-MP and how it works.
-Be positive, and play for entertainment, not benefits..
-Open thinking. Respect other peoples ideas and opinions..

In addition i'm also seeking people to fulfill these roles:

-Pawno scripter (I will start scripting myself, but it's always good to have someone by my side as we go.)
-Admins
-Experienced players. (This kind of goes under the same category as admins..)

Now if you actually read everything, and i've managed to catch your interest, then you've come a long way all ready!

Send me a PM if you are interested and why you want to be a part of the project and what you can offer to the project.

OR just comment right on this post!

I'm very interested in hearing your opinions on this!

Negative or positive, doesn't matter

ALSO,

If you want to be a part of the contribution today, take a look at this blog as I will post all future updates on the project there

Have a great evening everyone!

Best regards!
Me.

I've been thinking about the same concept as yours for quite a whole now tbh. But sadly I lack any knowledge to script, so I rest this to you. Good luck with this.

I actually thought about it myself.

90% of the time, this will be like never spoken.

And what if I want to know who played the most or if the player I am role playing with is even good at roleplay and not some newbie hobo roleplayer ?

IMHO...I agree. What I personally would do, is set a timer when the cops exits the vehicle that locks the doors after x amt of seconds. OR vice versa...have the doors lock automatically but then UNLOCK if the cop hasn't been in the car in x amt of time.

Or just implement a car stealing system/mini-game that would allow anyone to steal anything after fiddling around with something for a bit.

I don't see the necessity of being able to see how long a player have played. There are a few factors here to take in mind:
1. The person can be on for 100+ hours, and still not be good at RPing, he can just avoid RPing in general.
2. A follow up with point 1: A person who just joined can be just as good and/or better than that person.
3. Being able to see how long people have been playing enables people to select who they want to "mingle" with. I don't think it should be like that. Everyone should get a chance to RP together. No matter the background.

However with all of this being said: I don't have it figured out yet, but I believe there is a way to construct an application that isn't too dull and meh to do, to see if this person is fit for the server or not.. But i'll keep you posted on that when I have thought more about it..

I appreciate the contribution

Thanks Kaperstone!

Not a bad idea. If I may twist that idea a little though, i'm thinking an auto-lock system on police cars doesn't seem all too unrealistic.. However let's say the cops themselves have to invest in such locks Because if someone else wants to create some kind of government in another town, they won't automatically get cars that lock, just because they have a faction. I hope you understood what I ment there :P I try with my English :P

But thanks for the awesome contribution Kaisersouse!

Make them buy "fobs". If they have a fob, they get a clickable TD with "Lock/Unlock". They forget to lock their car...they get to (possibly) walk home!

Your idea is very nice and seems to unique in dome ways but tbh just don't any any new server or plans in sa-mp because it is becoming too old and sa-mp is aiming only at money and after making this all in plan you must have hosted tab and without you never going to players higher than 15 rather is old server with 1000 active users and for hosted tab you need to pay 15€ per month so it doesn't seems it's worthy after we put days of hardwork in scripting and other things so i would recommend you to start your project in some other multiplayer modification like jc2 or IV:MP.

Owner gone for a while, car thinks "driver's dead, better unlock yo"

Good luck. Just keep in mind that what you're suggesting is far from new and numerous attempts have been made prior to you.
