samp-server.exe reported as a malware?
#1

Well it all happened instantly. My Avast virus database was updated and then it moved samp-server.exe to the vault saying that it was a Win32:Malware-gen. Is it just me or?

If you downloaded the server from here theres absolutely no problem.
Virus scanners are heuristic scanners so its absolutely normal that there are false alarms.

I also get that type of problem when i downloaded a new Gamemode. I just fixed by adding new samp-server.exe from a svr package and its fine.

are you loading the exe from a gamemode release ? I know some people release gamemodes along with SA-MP files.

Anyone with common sense.

AVAST isn't great, but the fact that no one else has had this issue likely means that your .exe is infected. This could have been caused by downloading it from a third-party website or by a seperate virus injecting it with malicious code.

I would recommend you redownload it from these fourms (the one posted by Kalcor) if you didn't already. And then run a full scan of your PC.

You wouldn't need an antivirus if you had common sense.
