Everyone be aware
http://news.sky.com/story/1273922/tw...r-cyber-attack
Don't leave it too late to act upon, The cryptolocker is inside and if you don't pay $300 your files will be deleted in 72 hours without a trace, You can't get rid of it.

Just wanted to share it with you people.

EDIT: Just saw the dollar value - I was incorrect. My bad - It was $300, but I don't know why I posted $300,000.

Those that have incredibly sentimental files.. I know I wouldn't, I pay for all my games/software and I'll either store spare files in the cloud or on my home server.

I also couldn't find that in the article, but I went along with what the OP said, supposing he knew more about this subject. It seems not very likely that anyone would pay such an amount!

Well if you have things on your computer that you rate ~300k/unvaluable, I think any sensible human being would make a back-up.

This is way kids should not play Watch Dogs! And to think that this is happening right after the release of Watch Dogs, oh the irony!!

Sounds like a computer virus from at least 10 years ago. Who still opens unknown attachments in emails?

The OP is also creating unneeded hype over it. If this "cyber attack" is going to be a big deal, you'd here about it everywhere, not just from a useless thread like this one.

Its 300$, not 300k...
Charging 300k would be too stupid, noone would or could pay that. 300$ is pretty much what the average guy would pay for his computer.

Also, youd be surprised how many people still open attachments, "verify their paypal account", or help nigerian princes, if those mails are just spammed enough.

My bad for the $300. I don't know why I put $300K there - Althought I knew it was $300.
EDITED.
