What the hell is the point of having 500 slots for a 0 playerbase server?

Say you hit 40 players when you reach 45 slots you'll have to restart to increase slots which could mean their will be a loss of players.

I'm not sure but when I see a server with single or double digit figures (people online) when it's out of 500 (e.g. 4/500), I get somewhat put off. I can't say why....

It's stupid thing. Some stupid owners (no offense) waste their money for 500 slots and they have 0 players.
They think they'll get players with that way.
There is no point, in my opinion.

EDIT: What I'm saying is, what is the point of having a 500 slots on 0 playerbase? like, is that way of getting players? seeing 0 players out of 500 is a way? lol

Who really cares to be honest ? I just use the highest cap because I always have plans to add more bots and just could care less as I can set the slots to whatever I like. Most people it's the same thing, hosting off their own VPS or server.
