Million Dollar Equation || Collatz Conjecture
#1

Hey guys, I am here to share a maths equation which my teacher shared with me. It's called, Collatz Conjecture. He said the one which solves the equation will be awarded with 1 million dollars. That's what he said, I don't know if It's true, ****** says it is worth that much. Some institute funds the money.

Here's the question: (from wiki)

Take any natural number n. If n is even, divide it by 2 to get n / 2. If n is odd, multiply it by 3 and add 1 to obtain 3n + 1. Repeat the process (which has been called "Half Or Triple Plus One", or HOTPO[6]) indefinitely. The conjecture is that no matter what number you start with, you shall always eventually reach 1. The property has also been called oneness.[7]

Summary:

Proove it will always return to the number 1 or find the number which does not return 1.

Good luck.

That's like saying take a number, divide it by 10, multiply it by 10 and you end up at the original number.
Find a number this doesn't apply to.
No wonder 'they' are happy to offer a million as a prize

BTW, this definitely puts the Nothing in Everything and Nothing

Turn it into a progression and determine the limit/infimum via linear regression for a random natural number n. You will always end up with 1.
