Donation / Paypal

Hello there,

I have a question regarding setting up a donation system.
We're running a RolePlay server and we want to let players have the option of donating money for in-game benefits, like many other servers do. Now, my question is... What type of account do I have to use? I don't want to get legal issues.

Consumers account or business account?

If you have any idea, please respond.

Regards,
Tristan

Business is for a big server in my opinion - go with a small one and set up the email to be something like "donations@'yourserver'.net

Then, verify your PP and have users send payments as a gift.

Going along the lines of legal issues, please make a policy and tell them it's donations, not a purchase there-for they cannot file a complaint if they loose their perk IG due to mis-use ect. Having a policy and making sure they read it with all possible issues you should be fine legally.

EDIT: Consumer not business*

Intangible goods aren't covered by PayPal's buyer protection. If you mention that in a dispute PayPal will side with the seller.
