I want to know how it's called when people send the same message repeatedly in a channel.
We have a word for this in Chinese, but I don't know how it's called in English.
I thought it was spamming, but when a foreign player came to my server and do that, he said he's not spamming when I told him not to do that.
Now I guess spamming is about sending useless messages, but in my case people are sending meaningful messages, although they're repeatedly sent, which is annoying.
Anyone knows about it?

Spamming is the correct word. A translator will not work for you?

Another word for this would be flooding.

I think flooding and spamming are the only two words. I can't think of another one that could be used in the same context.

I like "washing the channel with words".
"Hey bro, quit washing the channel with words!"

Pretty weird topic, pretty weird question, and pretty weird conversation between you and your player...
Weird...
Anyways gotta agree with posts above, it's Spamming or flooding.

Most people consider any repeated unwanted useless message to be spam. When people flood me, I call it spamming. Its just easier to keep it to one phrase.
Also, the person who was spamming told you it wasnt spamming because spammers dont like to hear they are doing something bad.

I remember having a whole topic about spamming & flooding in staff talk.
Conclusion was:
Spam = Unwanted, useless message.
Flood = Overflow of messages.
So...
Flooding:
Hello
Hello
Hello
Hello
Spamming:

Flooding spam:

fidhfdgfdgfkncjie
fidhfdgfdgfkncjie
