tricked into visiting a fake site about sa-mp
#1

Hey!

I'm usually a bit sharper than this.. but I read someones post in a forum about how a website has set up sa-mp in a shell that remotes a machine so you can play in the browser. Of course i figured it would be unplayable at best, but curiosity got the best of me and I visited the site.

I immediately figured out that it was just a video of someone logging into a server, and i was most likely being infected while watching.. I checked around and saw some minimal info about the site including this post:
http://www.gtaforums.com/index.php?showtopic=538035

The site I visited was: www, sampfreeonline,tk .. which points to: samponlinefree, orq,pl
(dots were replaced with commas so no one clicks by accident)

Can anyone verify if this is indeed a malicious site.. I'm thinking I have a keylogger installed now and its just waiting for me to join a server... ..or even worse..

Any help is greatly appreciated!
Thanks!!

My only advice right now is to do a few virus scans. http://www.malwarebytes.org/ is a good one.

Obviously you shouldn't goto sites you're unfamiliar with, I guess this is a way of you learning that.

I have Kasparsky AV and it didn't detect anything...

The source code for the site is also standard HTML, no weird coding found in that. It claims to hold an Adobe online version of SAMP (through browser and not samp.exe), however the link to the online version of SAMP does not ever fully load and does seem to have suspicious coding in it (though it didn't trigger my AV), it's also possible the suspicious code was legit and the code to get it to work.

Conclusion: It's probably a safe site (.tk site's often set off AV), however the link on it may be harmful.

The ".tk" was your first red flag.
