Not sure if this fits for this section...
Basically, my laptop is currently down due to some hardware issues, so in the meantime I'm using my desktop which I haven't touched in like a year..
Anyways, I've tried to run GTA on it after installing it, but when I run it nothing comes up. I check the processes, and what happenes is it comes up and disappears in like 2-5 seconds. I've tried reinstalling it, updating drivers, running windows update, still can't get it to launch. I've tried opening it through the samp client and get same results.
Any suggestions?

Try renaming your GTA:SA folder and, before reinstalling GTA make sure that you deleted the folder "GTA San Andreas User Files" from My Documents. If it's still not working make sure that you have a compatible computer that can support GTA.

GFX card isn't supporting GTA SA. Try to get a better one if possible

Delete gta.set I don't remember if it's named that but it should end with .set.. So no worry.
I'm sure this will fix your problem.
Btw you find it in your documents, almost forgot to say xD.

run -> dxdiag -> Check to make sure you have DirectX 9+ & 64mb video card
run -> dxdiag -> Check to make sure you also have 1GHz Intel Pentium III or AMD Athlon Processors.
run -> dxdiag -> Check to make sure you also have 256mb of ram
If all this is correct, then delete your "GTA User files" from your documents.
Also, check to see your GTASA.exe compatibility, and try to change it to Windows XP SP3. That's what I run mine as.
If still not working, let me know.

I've tried to rename the folder, didn't try deleting "GTA San Andreas User Files" before reinstalling though. It has worked on this computer before except this is a fresh install of windows 7, which it had on it before.

If it dosen't work check your hardware, if it's okay then redo your windows.
Sometimes corrupted windows is the case.

It wouldn't be that, thanks for the suggestion though.

It has nothing to do with the OS.

No. It would've notified me if it was.
I'm gonna try reinstalling windows 7, if that doesn't work I'll try Windows Vista. It's odd though that it won't work.

That's odd, maybe some OS data was corrupted.
