IP of a hostname address

Anyone know how I can get the IP (#'s) from my server's hostname "network.myname.com:7777" ?

Go to your command prompt type in: ping network.myname.com

What kind of hosting are you doing? If you need your external I.P goto www.whatismyip.com

I'm using an FTP that I do NOT own... meaning I can't just look it up. When I ping it the IP I get doesn't work, but the hostname does...

Thanks, but thats was just an example (didn't want to release the real hostname for security reasons), but I was wrong the ping IP (and that link) were both right, problem was I couldn't have both IP's in my favorites so it appeared offline. I got it guys thanks!
