If you want to make real SMF forums, you need to have host.
Either way purchase a good host and a domain name, which can be found here:

Domains aren't so expensive, for example I use and without troubles,
www.namecheap.com
Only 10.69$ / yr.
Everything provided.
Once you purchase Host and Domain, then you have to point the domain on your host.
You will have access to cPanel, and there you can upload forum files through FTP.
Download the original forum, latest release '2.0.4'

If you can't purchase A webhost & Domain, you can have free webhost, that comes with subdomain and domain.
Example:
www.mydomain.net3.net
Go here:
www.000webhost.com
There you don't have to do all that I said above, it will be easier.

Just register at
www.000webhost.com
And then go to
www.dot.tk and point your DNS 'A' Record IP address which can be found at your registered domain on
www.000webhost.com
Log in, > GO to cPanel > View Account Details > "You can also point your domain ("A" DNS record) to IP....."
Then go to cPanel again, > Parked Domain > and Type in address that you registered on
www.dot.tk
Example:
www.test1.tk park on
www.mydomain.net2.net.
