Server IP address as in website address
#1

Hello,
I'm looking for a thread that had an explanation of 'Server IP address as in website address' with video, as I didn't find it in search..

Otherwise, could you please help me with this, I would like to make my server IP address as my domain name.
Thank you.

You need:
1) A domain name (such as www.randomexample.com)
2) Access to a control panel to manage the domain name.

Once you have those, you can create an A-Record for a sub-domain (such as server.randomexample.com). More specific information on how to do this can be found on the host's website, or alternatively you can create a support ticket or ask them by email.

(I'm assuming you have bought a domain name from a web-host)

Yes I did.
Thanks for the help too.
But I remember there was a video about it, on this forums.
I don't know where is it.

Just login to your panel (where you bought the domain, ex. NameCheap) and find the page where you can edit DNS records. Then do what 3ventic said.

You need to setup a A record in DNS to your servers IP.

I tried, it didn't work.

Example:

Server IP: 32.32.32.5:7777

Add 'A' DNS record:

Name: samp.mydomain.net
Address: 32.32.32.5

'Add Record'.

After doing all this, it didn't work..
I clicked on 'Add Server'
then I typed in: samp.mydomain.net:7777

It said: Retrieving Info.

It will take up to 24 hours to update. You can try using Win+R, cmd.exe and typing in ipconfig /flushdns
