Recreating an existing house with some modifications
#1

Hi everyone,

I've been browsing and googling around, but haven't found a solution yet. I may be on the wrong track, so if someone could help me out with some basics, I'd be grateful.

Basically, I'm looking to edit this guard booth: http://i.imgur.com/ISoCsEX.jpg and removing the front or back foor (texture model ws_guardhousedoor). Now I know it's impossible to simply remove it from the model itself, so I'm trying to recreate the entire thing with that one element missing.

The TXD textures aren't showing up under available objects, so what's the procedure. I very much like the design of this house and I haven't really found a decent database of available objects either, and scrolling through tens of thousands of models to find what seems appropriate sounds redudant, to say the least.

I can add a movable object (a door) instead of the one currently in place, but right now I'm simply wondering how I can recreate that building.

Bear in mind I'm fairly new to SA:MP editing and the most mapping I've done has been in MTA, which is simple and straightforward. I can work out the filterscripts if some are needed, but the mapping part has me confused.

Is there even a way to find the texture models to add them and build the house up from scratch using the same texture models that exist in that booth or should I use SetObjectMaterial somehow?

tl;dr how would I go about recreating this very house without the door?

Thanks.

Even if you do succeed, it would lead to bugs if chosen to run online.

How come? The scripter on the server would most likely be glad to add it, so I don't see an issue in adding a new object to the game, some have already been added and isn't it just another pawn script that adds an object to the game?

Also, what if I were to create a new house in the same dimensions, more or less and just use SetObjectMaterial to change the textures on selected objects to make it look like it with the exception of that damned door?
