Many graphics card output more performance on higher resolutions, and I mean 2***x**** because they don't have to downsample antialiasing as much (i guess among other things).

60hz is standard, all screens can handle 60hz input, atleast every single one i've ever used since 2004....
There's 60hz monitors, and there are those with higher rates.


On topic to the threadowner: It isn't all about graphics card, even if you have a 690 your computer won't perform better than before if you have an Intel Celeron processor (for example). The processor will be what you call a bottleneck.
