Overclocking grapic card?
#1

Hi!

Is it a smart idea to overclock my grapich card??

It ain't very old, got it since 5 march.

It's a: Sapphire Radeon HD 6670 1gb GDDR5 2.8gb HyperMemory.
800mhz.

Will I notice more power? Gaming etc..

And will my grapic card broke faster..

And is it easy to do wrong??.. I think my freind maybe can do it if it's 2 hard..

Thanks alot :P...

Edit: And how much can I clock it too?..

Why don't you just buy a new graphics card.

Got my ATI Radeon HD 6870 for 150 euro, can run every game with High + Full HD.

Pretty good videocard for a low price.

Overclocking your laptop/computer can cause your computer to heat up(alot) and possibly blow up.

blow up?
give me a break.

Some processors are designed to be overclocked,
and example is the sandybridge ICORE
overclocking a cpu thats not designed for this is just hacky
and you would need an Expert to prevent damage if even possible.
But dont forget how it could change the sync between it and other hardware's clock also
causing big problems.

i dont know anything about that graphix card but know that if the cpu on it
is not designed to have its clock adjusted then I would not do it.

best bet is to search this on ****** and see who else has done it,
you may even find a video of it on *******
(you know where your pci card is smoking... hahah)

note that none of the info above is said to be facts,
but over the years just my observation. If their is
something not correct their please do say so.

Hence "Possibly". Some processors if overclocked, can blow up.

About people said about "blowing up" that's 100% not true. At max. they burn up LOlz. On Topic. I'm with RobinOwnz just buy a new graphic card instead of overclocking, low temp. , more performance , i got my ATI HD 6850, i just paid 120euros for it so its cheap. Plus the cooling is quite cool (29 - 33°C on idle, 60° on gaming ,3D softwares and such like that). For the overclock anyways you can still going in ATI control panel and you will find overclock option to do it, otherwise you can download ATI Tool, MSI AfterBurner (dont remember many softwares).

No, I don't say that it works (I'm not sure, so I'm not in charge if you break it up), but that's a tutorial I found.
