Nowdays it's hard to get players?
#1

Hello,i opened this topic to discuss about how it's hard to get players nowdays.

It's really in this way?

I mean,180+ more servers in hosted list, but 50% of them are empty.

Players are bored to join new servers or they just keep to play on famous servers?

For a new server it's very hard to get players, because part of SaMp players are already focused on big servers.

There is a hope for new servers to get a solid player base?

Express yourself.

What's the difference nowdays between "Unique" and "like other servers"...?

I think it's the same.

It depends upon their staff, script, name and difference. Most of the roleplay servers are same or maybe unique but are "ROLEPLAY". People like to play at servers with nice and active admins, and comfort.

If you've organised everything perfectly, I believe the key factor of getting players are your contacts with other people. If you know a lot of people within the community, you can invite them to play at your server and if you're well-known in this forums, people will be more likely to join your server then if you're a random noob.

No, it's very easy if you have the right people behind your project and the right script.

New Servers (especially unique ones) are the ones mostly having troubles getting players....Only way people get players, especially if they are new is by having other servers merging with them, or starting out with a good couple amount of friends.

Lets get this straight.
The server only gets famous if it has two things.
Nice game mode and Hosted tab.
thats it, i've also seen some servers on Hosted tab always 30/50 with no administrators online.

There are a lot of pre-conceived ideas as to what makes a good server, but it is exactly that which stifles success. Creating something successful is about creating something unseen, and unknown. Something unexpected is key to a bout of serious success. I'll give you an example, prior to vG:RP on MTA, MTA had never really seen a decent RP server. vG did something that people thought was impossible. Everyone wrote MTA off as a platform incapable of facilitating RP - but vG did it astoundingly well.

A SA:MP server that just point-blank forgets about what everyone has ever said and done before is one that will succeed. There's a lot of talk here about seeing the same thing over and over, and that's exactly right. When you read the server advertisements, it's peppered with systems, and features, but how about benefits? How about experiments? How about what that means to the player?

The focus of servers has very much moved away from the customer approach, and that is something that has to come around. Players are finite, and have requirements. Servers should be made for players, not players dragged into servers.

Something new, something fresh, something unheard of, un-thought of, unseen.

Something new, fresh and unheard of doesn't always work out in sa-mp. People won't really join a server with a super unique name. They will join something like Los Santos cops and robbers or san andreas cops and robbers. Uniqueness doesn't always work out in samp because 60% of the players don't give a crap if the server is unique or not, they just play.

The best gamemodes are the gamemodes that work and are easy to understand, I have absolutely no clue why people want a terribly 'unique' script. Scripting should be fun, not a competition of who can come up with the most so-called 'unique' features.

The most annoying thing in the world is when I've had servers in the past, with just a few players, people join wanting to be Admin, or to own a faction, and when you say no they quit, regardless of what script you have. I gradually found it increasingly hard to get players, which is why I closed my server.

Naa, the favorite part is when a user ask for admin, we say no, and he start attacking the server.
