Fail centralized banning / reputation system
#1

Would you use one? Bans wouldn't be global, but a admin can inspect anyone's bans, It'd also have a free open API for anyone to query from any device capable of making GET requests. So, what's your opinion? Its like Junkbuster, but its fair. People do learn a lesson after all.

This makes no sense what so ever, explain it properly so people can actually UNDERSTAND what you mean.

I understood it..he wants to make a database containing every ban, so any server can connect to that database and ask specific info about why, where and when he got banned (so not globally banning them).

The downsides of that system are the same as JunkBuster though:
-every server needs trustable admins (>monitoring them)
-global AC will cause the cheats to try bypassing them
-what people do on one server, they won't do on another server (this database partially fixes it, but still)
-dynamic IPs are very common, which would corrupt the database

Name based with a ip. And it also has tracking So it creates a record of your ip changes, names, and more. Also, you'd see the admin who banned the player. I guess I could add a system to comment on the bans aswell, so you can see the story

-edit-

Also, I didnt notice i wrote fail instead of fair...

I don't like it. Minecraft has a few of these centralized ban systems and I have been banned from so many servers for a petty or non-existing reason. Yet I get a massive blemish on me for everyone to see. This can be helped to a degree by making it so that only authorized and very trustworthy servers can add to the ban database, but I'm even a bit uncomfortable with that.

Yea, This idea is from mc, and i got bans too :P

The point is its fair, if a ban is appealed sucessfully, the admin will loose rep, so you see admin rep, player rep, and server rep with bans.

It's not really even that fair. Just because I fuck around on one server doesn't mean that I'll do it on another. I also don't want to have to waste my time appealing bans.

It is fair. You shouldn't fuck around so much on servers. and if you don't appeal, you don't appeal. It wont prevent you from joining or alert a admin of previous bans. (stock script) It will only tell you that you have bans and you can appeal them ingame
