I would say its only way to start samp in Vista, but as it seems you got XP, so idk why its crashing you, i use to have some like that, try to download no cd, try this link

I have tried GTA San andreas on both computers runing vista
alough one of them was copy of vista which is now running genuine.
I had Basic on 1 and Ultimate on the other.
On basic its less compatible with that big long list of error error that just spams
on ultimate you do not get that, well atleast on my pc i don't.
Uninstall San andreas
Uninstall Sa-mP
Reinstall install sa-mp. Try running sa-mp.
If you get error patch the game now.
try running sa-mp.
If you have modded GTA remove the mods
Make sure your nickname has no special characters
Try running in Windows XP Sp2 compat mode
Update your Graphics card drivers
Make sure you have the Latest version of samp

Ok I've tried running it in compatibility for win 98, didnt work

Looked for duplicate files, none

Sorry but the no cd thing looks fishy

I've also uninstalled GTA and SAMP and reinstalled them both.Repatched and still no good, nickname is just "Heliarc", no option to run in SP2 compatibility mode, just checked for graphics card updates and there are none.

I really appreciate you guys trying to help.If anyone can give me an answer that fixes this I'll paypal you $20.

You could try using a no-cd (although you probably want to look for one from a different/more known/trusted website)

and since you own the original disk, it's 'ok' to use a no-cd.


I had this before, it was fixed by removing enbseries / windowed mode .dll's from the GTA San Andreas directory. Other than mods / incompatibility issues, those are the only things that I know about which can crash the game.

No you do not need to uninstall your GTA to use a no-cd.
