Been spending my day so far designing a new website. This here was the first one I ever made from scratch, no help from themes or anything . Probably not going to use it because I think it looks shitty, but whatever :P




Constructive criticism would be helpful. Keep in mind, I'm not so good at photoshop lol.

Header background doesn't match the page try using some light(Grey) colors for header.

Navigation should be moved towards right.

This was one of the most difficult things. I thought it would be way too dull if all my colors were black, grey, and something else that matched it. So I decided to use red. The footer is the same red too.

Thank you though, but what color would you think would be best? I can try to change it and upload another picture :P

edit: nav. bar has been moved more to right and looks better already

Looks nice, it'd be much better if you did make a navigation area on the left and a little news feed on the side of the navigation. Nice though!

Grey can be used with any colors with either it's tint or shade. You can also try dark cyan grey, try kuler.adobe.com and dribbble.com for some nice color inspiration.

I do agree that it would be nice with some sidebars. I'll make a right-side bar with some news feed type thing. Won't make a left sidebar because don't know what to put in it xD

P.S: Changed the header color schemes, looks much better now

If you are beginner with webdesign i suggest you to take a look at 960 Grid system. It's pretty much easy to make proper design with help of 960 GS.

I quite like the second one maybe outline the header with the same blue as the VO or outline the news box as well to brighten it up slightly because the blue/grey/black colour scheme works well together imo.

Meh, I just realized that this website looks like complete crap on other resolutions. I guess because I made it on a 1080x1920 resolution. I put it on my laptop and it was all messed up...
